Different standardized (entrance) tests required for studying abroad:

Most countries have their own requirements in terms of the tests they accept for admission to one of their undergraduate or postgraduate programs.

These tests could be broadly divided in to two types:

  • Analytical test (including subject tests) – GMAT, GRE, SAT, SAT 2 Subject, ACT – not necessarily required by all countries or say mostly, American Universities will need one of these
  • English proficiency test – IELTS, TOEFL, PTE – needed by most countries / Universities for both admission and visa purposes
