British Council resumes computer-delivered IELTS testing in 4 cities

British Council is making strong efforts to resume IELTS testing, while ensuring top safety and hygiene standards for the candidates and staff members. Paper-based IELTS testing remains suspended until further notice. However, British Council has resumed computer-delivered IELTS testing in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune. They are working hard to gradually resume CD IELTS testing in other locations in coordination with district authorities and as per state government guidelines. All updates and information related to the recommencement of tests will be shared with candidates through the website and emails.

 

English Classes Under COVID-19

English classes in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai have been postponed, and our libraries in India shall also remain closed until further notice. Our online courses and resources are available to students across India.

Postponement Under COVID-19

Currently postponement of test dates to future dates is being offered at no extra cost. For centres where testing for paper-based and computer-delivered IELTS has not resumed, candidates can apply for transfers to a later available date without any additional charges.  Email to [email protected] with your postponement/test date transfer request. Kindly be advised there will be a delay in getting your postponement request processed due to limited staffing.
For centres where testing has resumed, all postponement/date transfers should be requested 10 days prior to the exam date effective 7th July 2020. Any postponement/date transfer request received within the 10 days of the IELTS Exam date will not be accepted. Only exceptions on medical grounds of self/family and/or bereavement will be accepted till the exam date, subject to receiving valid medical documentation.

 

Refund Under COVID-19

For centres where testing has resumed, the refund should be requested 10 days prior to the test date effective 7th July 2020. Any refund request received within the 10 days of the IELTS Exam date will not be accepted and the candidate would be expected to appear for his/her test. Only exceptions on medical grounds of self/family and/or bereavement will be accepted till the exam date, subject to receiving valid medical documentation.
