Entry requirements to study at the University of Dundee, UK

Undergraduate course admission requirement to study at the University of Dundee

  • State/National Board – Students must have good results (60% overall) in the CBSE, ICSE or any recognised state board XII Standard exams. If you are  applying to study Medicine or Dentistry, the university requires a minimum of CBSE/12th Standard with 85% or above overall and 85% or above in a minimum of three subjects (including Chemistry and another science subject).

Undergraduate course admission requirement directly for year 2 (transfer entry)

  • Direct admission to 2nd Year – Students with excellent grades (75%+ in four subjects including subjects relevant to chosen course) may be able to enter the 2nd year of some degree courses directly. However, there is no pathway for direct entry to year 2 for the Medicine and Dentistry courses.

Postgraduate courses admission requirement

  • Taught Master – Bachelor’s degree with 55% or above who have degrees from University of Delhi, University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, IIT’s and IIM’s (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree) are accepted as having solid credentials. Bachelor’s degree with 60% or above are required from students who complete the qualifying exams from other institutions (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree). A Bachelor’s degree with 50% or above may be considered comparable to a UK 2.2 degree. Law applicants from other well-ranked institutions may be considered with 55% or above.
  • Research – Applicants who hold a Master’s degree from a central university or a centre for advanced study or a MSc (English) in Engineering/Technology, can be considered for postgraduate research. Please contact ILW Education Consultants for free consultation today.

  • IELTS – Overall score of 6.5 with a 6.0 in writing and minimum score of 6.0/5.5 in the other three components.
  • TOEFL(iBT) – Overall standard score of 88 and at least 21 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.

Application Deadlines to study at the University of Dundee

Deadline for Undergraduate Courses after 12th

The normal closing date to receive applications for full-time undergraduate courses is 15th January for September intake. If possible, try to ensure that your application reaches the university by this date. The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (also known as UCAS) sends all applications that it receives after 15 January, until 30 June but the university cannot  guarantee that they will give the same level of consideration or offer as those that arrive by 15 January.

Deadline for Postgraduate Courses

Generally speaking,  the University of Dundee does not have an application deadline for postgraduate courses. However, we recommend all students apply latest by 15th May for the September start.
